Missing: One iMac

So, I'm fast asleep at 9am in my warm bed on Sunday morning when I hear my cell phone ring downstairs. I think to myself, "Who could that be?" Classes aren't in session right now, so it couldn't have been a work call. "Maybe Mom? Hmmm..." Then, I fell back asleep. (Note: If I'm asleep, don't call, I won't pick up.) Michael comes marching upstairs (to wake me, no doubt - argh!) and turns off our air purifier that we are so addicted to that we can't sleep without it. And I shoot up out of bed to fuss at him for waking a sleeping pregnant lady. Then, he says, "Rob called, your office was broken into this morning." I proceed to say some things that a woman should not say and scramble for the phone so I can get the latest update - our office was broken into around 7am with a SWAT-grade battering ram and 2 computers stolen from the office. In and out in less than a minute. "OMG! Not mine, I hope!" Better believe it - a brand-new (about 4 months old) 20" Apple iMac stolen. Oh, the horror! I loved that computer! I wanted to hug it everyday before I left work. Now, I am thinking of all the things I should have said to it before it was so viciously stolen away from me. Those jerks!!

Yesterday, going into the office felt strange. I feel so violated. I know they didn't steal anything that actually belonged to me, but they were standing in my office! I feel dirty when I'm in there now. YUCK! Luckily, I don't have to go in there too much, because I have been working at the front desk while our customer service rep is out this week. But, still...
